"This work presents a review of the research results of factors influencing the performance of microfiltration process and some methods for intensification of microfiltration of dispersed systems. Chemical engineering characteristics of cross-flow microfiltration were studied experimentally (the effects of the transmembrane pressure diference, the feed flowrate above membrane, the type of membrane, the size of dispersed particles and that of the electrostatic interactions between particles and membrane) and several methods of the microfiltration process intensification (rotating membrane, fluidized bed, static inserts or gas-liquid two-phase flow in the feed stream, and the influence of ionic strength and pH).
