"The text focuses on four different strategies by means of which individuals with emotional and behavioral difficulties can react to negative social statuses ascribed to them. The strategies depend on individuals attitudes towards his or her negative social status on the one hand and towards a chance to change their problematic situation on the other hand. The first attitude can be characterized as will to change, whereas the other one as belief in change. Each of the attitudes is a specific definition of situation, which influences, via individuals behavior, the efficiency of specific preventive activities and intervention.
