"The main purpose of this paper is to outline a new approach in using sources of environmental data and e-Government Services which are accessible within the interoperability framework of the European Union. A proposal for infrastructure dealing with the usage of these services is presented and it describes possible technologies and their potential adoption for local purposes. Two methods for accessing data and information are mentioned in the paper. The first method is the development of interoperable middleware as an instrument which enables and simplifies mutual communication and the second one uses multi-agent systems. They act as autonomous subjects over domains defined with the help of ontology and other tools for description and perform an evaluation of queries flowing from users." . . "3"^^ . .
