Pezzuto (Illinois University, Chicago, USA) has published an article about anticancer effect of resveratrolu. It has been found in vitro and in vivo, that all stages of the cancer process have been inhibited by resveratrol. Its presence increased concentration of enzyme of quinone-reductase, which metabolically detoxicates carcinogens. Resveratrol also exhibited antiprecipitation effect in blood and inhibited the activity of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and hyperoxydases.
