"Currently, e-learning administrators as well as teachers are offered a great variety of e-learning tools and virtual learning environments to choose from when setting up online platforms for their education purposes. The whole picture is, however, rendered less clear owing to the fact that each of the tools and systems may be best applied in different teaching situations and with different learning aims. Therefore, it is crucial to individually select such a technological solution that fits each of the situation. The poster will present some of the main types of VLEs in connection with current theories of learning and sketch up a possible way of interconnecting more VLEs into a functional learning environment offering a diverse and effective learning experience.
