"HK Medical Postgraduate Conferecne Meeting; 2" . "The biofilm-positive bacteria can survive concentrations of antibiotics and disinfectants even 1000x higher than planctonic forms of same bacteria. The aim of the study was to compare microbial contamination of the unit with increased sanitation protocols, the boxes for allogenic transplantations, with standard hospital unit of same hospital department. From the 60 collected samples, only 11 were sterile (18.3%). In three samples we isolated more than six different strains of bacteria. In total we isolated 116 different strains of bacteria. The isolated strains were mostly gramnegatives (P. aeruginosa, S. maltophilia, K. pneumoniae, S. marcescens etc.), from the grampositive bacteria mostly S. epidermidis was isolated. The ability to form biofilm was demonstrated in 71.2% of strains isolated from life-boxes and in 34.5% of strains isolated from standard hospital unit. The differences in number of isolated strains on both units may be caused by different sanitation modes on these units."@en . . "[11AA929E0797]" .
