"This paper reports the results of an investigation into the structure of proximal part of femur in adult individuals. The bone material studied consists of 300 femurs coming from Moravian archaeological researches within the 5th19th centuries, of 250 ones coming from Egypt dated to Late Period (662332 BC) and 10 femurs in the fresh state (from the anatomical dissection). We studied a frequency of Allens fossa, Poiriers facet and calcar femorale. Allens fossa is a various depression or an erosion located in the anterior aspect of a femoral neck. In adult femurs it was present in 18.1% in Czech bone remains, in Egyptian femurs in 16.3%. Poiriers facet is a smooth part of femoral head which extends to the femoral neck from the articular margin. Frequency Czech bone remains 10.6%, Egyptian ones 8.7%. Calcar femorale (crista femoris interna) was studied by morphoscopy, CT and matematic models. The obtained results are bases for possible clinical studying the formations mentioned."@en .
