"The text deals with neurophysiological principles of early developmental stages of the child as the fundamental prerequisites of physical education in the aquatic environment at early age. There are five groups of skills distinguished in Czech didactics of swimming (positioning in the water, swimming breathing, orientation and submersion in the water, fall into the water and the basics of biting movements) in the context of these relationships. Due to the generally negative trend of declining physical fitness in populations of children and adults, it is highly desirable to occur at all age levels to stimulate motivation to move and creating a foundation for later, preferably regular and lifelong use of appropriate physical activities. The infant swimming in compliance with the principles of development and understanding of individual variability brings enormous potential to create a positive relationship of the child to move and in a specific aquatic environment.
