"This paper addresses some of the characteristic concerns of Jaspers' and Heidegger's philosophical projects. The relation between the two thinkers is presented as a history of misunderstanding, yet also as a history of their respective interest in the existentiell aspect of philosophy. In analyzing Heidegger's and Jaspers' works, I present the ideas of %22abstraction%22 and %22theology%22 as the two extreme limits of the conceptual field within which their thinking evolves.
