"Non-democratic regimes remain the essential part of today's world in spite of the unprecedented democratization wave after 1974. What are the reasons of their endurance and in what form do they persist? Are democratic governments threatened by a potential reverse wave? Why is the study of historical cases of non-democratic regimes still relevant? And what methods should be employed for the research? The aim of the conference is to create a forum for the researchers, who deal with such questions. Political scientists, historians, sociologists and other academics in Humanities and Social Sciences are especially welcome. Not only authoritarian regimes will be the matter of concern. Conference deliberation will be on hybrid regimes, lying in the grey zone between democracy and authoritarianism, as well as on the threat of anti-democratic coups by various groups and movements. No geographic, nor type on non-democratic regimes restrictions are imposed. Recommended topics of papers are as following: . authoritarian regimes and approaches to their studies in 21st century, . hybrid regimes and approaches to their studies in 21st century . historical cases of non-democratic regimes after 1945, . anti-democratic coups after 1945, . threat of anti-democratic coups in 21st century, . reasons of endurance of non-democratic regimes in the contemporary world."@en .
