"Our aim was to analyze the healing and tissue reaction in skin wounds caused by punch biopsy in five groups of pigs pig after 7, 14 and 21 days of healing. In four groups tissue-engineered meshes (scaffolds) were used. The fifth group was healing spontaneously without any scaffold. When comparing the types of scaffolds, several tendencies were found, but they were not statistically confirmed due to a low number of samples in each group. Most advanced synthesis of type I collagen after 14 and 21 days of healing was found in groups NSS 122 S5 and NSS 118 S1. The onset of formation of microvessels during the early phase (after 7 days) was most pronounced in group NS 118 S1 and NS 122 S5. The trophic support provided by these microvessels could contribute to the most advanced formation of mature type I collagen in these two groups, because it conincided with the collagen I formation. The thickening of the epidermis was found as a part of a healing reaction, and the epidermist was thickest in in the group NS 121 S4."@en . . .
