"Content of pigments in wheat donors with purple pericarp (PP), blue aleurone (BA), yellow grain (YG), red grain (RG), and white grain (WG) was analysed by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The highest amount of anthocyanins was found in the aleurone and seed coat of wheat grain samples with BA and PP. Lower amount of coloured compounds was detected in samples with YH and RG and no one was found in WG wheat. Measurement of colour tint in the flour samples using colorimeter demostrated higher amount of red colour in wheat with PP and yellow colour from YG. These results indicate that a part of pigments passes into flour. Donors of PP, BA and YG traits can be exploited for breeding of cultivars with increased content of health beneficial compounds."@en . "8"^^ . .
