"Totally 40 pigs of dam breeds tested on fattening performance and carcass value traits were included in the analysis. Carcasses of all animals were analyzed with the aim to determine proportions of main carcass cuts. A detail anatomic dissection of belly was carried out as a reference method (RM). Meat yield of belly was also estimated using a regression equation (RE) and on the basis of muscle areas measured at 8th (A8) and 12th (A12) ribs. Estimated meat yields were 57.02, 56.49, 47.51 and 52.60 % for RM, RE, A8 and A12, respectively.
