"Proteome research of stress induced responses of cereals could display new knowledge on specific stress reactions of differently tolerant genotypes. Proteins with different levels of accumulation in plant tissue of differently tolerant cultivars could be tested as possible markers of tolerance. In this paper, the results of proteomics research done on cold-acclimated barley and wheat is shown. The identification of several differently accumulated proteins in differently tolerant genotypes was successful (e.g., legumin-like protein, malate dehydrogenase, proteins of ABA_WDS superfamily). The identified proteins belonged to several functional groups involved in stress response (e.g., ROS, COR, chaperones, enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism, amino acid metabolism).
