First, the main protemics approaches are described (gel-based approaches - 2-DE, 2D-DIGE coupled with tandem MS; gel-free approaches - iTRAQ, iCAT)and their strengths and weaknesses are discussed. In the next sections, main protemic results regarding the individual abiotic and biotic stress factors (low temperatures - cold and frost; drought, salinity, waterlogging, ozone, inadequate or excessive light conditions, disbalances in mineral nutrition, heavy metal stress, mechanical wounding, biotic stressfactors - viral and fungal pathogens) are summarized.
