"The resistance of potato cultivar to soft rot caused by three soft-rot Erwinia (=Pectobacterium, Dickeya) species and two pectolytic Pseudomonas species was assessed in tuber slice test. Of 144 potato cultivars and selections, 1 cultivar (cv. Krone) was resistant to Erwinia strains tested and 47 cultivars were resistant to Pseudomonas strains tested. The resistance of 144 potato cultivars and selections tested were resistant (15 - 37 cultivars), low susceptible (13 - 73 cultivars), susceptible (44 - 72) and highly susceptible (4 - 59) to tree soft rot Erwinia. On the other hand, of 144 cultivars and selection tested, 19 were resistant, 94 low susceptible, 30 susceptible and only 1 higly susceptible to Pseudomonas viridiflava. The ability of P. marginalis pv. marginalis to macerate potato tuber tissue was relatively low. Of the 144 cultivars and selections tested, 118 were resistant, 26 low resistant and none were susceptible and very susceptible to P. margialis pv. marginalis."@en . .
