"This paper describes the different technical and economical aspects of growing and use of biomass for energetic purposes. Common characteristic of biomass as an energy source is described in preface. Three basis methods of energy obtaining from biomass - 1) direct burning; 2) thermal pyrolysis; 3) aerobic fermentation are described. Two groups of technologies for biomass utilization are described: so called ''dry\u201D and ''wet\u201D technologies (the moisture less or more than 50 %). The next part describes main source of energy biomass and requirements on suitable energy crops. As energetic crops there are suitable cereals, oil and sugar plants, herbs, grasses and fast growing woods. Advantage of the cultivation and harvest of energy crops is highly technological potency and possibility to use of ordinary agricultural techniques.
