"In the field trials in the three different sites in 1996-2003 was carried out the reed canary grass determined for energy purpose. The effect of the soil and climatic conditions, different harvest time (July, November, March) and different N fertilizer dose (0, 30, 60 kg.ha-1) on phytomass yield were investigated. The effect of harvest time on water content in harvested material was determined as well the phytomass losses during winter period and basic nutrients and heavy metals content in crops. There was found significant importance of the year, site and N fertilization on the reed canary grass yield. The reed canary grass was responded significantly on the increased N doses through the phytomass yield increasing. Within the average years and sites the N dose of 30 kg.ha-1 was increased the RCG phytomass dry matter yield by 14,6 % (1,08 t.ha-1) harvested in November. The higher N dose of 60 kg.ha-1 was increased the reed canary grass phytomass yield in average by 32,8 % (2,08 t.ha-1) in all site c" . .
