The STS markers linked to resistance genes Lr9, LrlO, Lr19, Lr24 were found to be highly specific for these genes and will be useful in marker-assisted selection in wheat. However, amplification product 378 bp for resistance gene Lr28 was detected in all the accessions in all the seven laboratories, both in the accessions having the gene and those not having it.
