Soil organic carbon, microbial biomass and dehydrogenase activity increased in the top layer and decreased in O.1-O.2m and O.2-0.3m under RT and NT when compared with CT. The effects of soil tillage practices on basal respiratory activities were not pronounced among soil layers.
