"This paper deals with the development of Bilan water balance model in a daily time step, which is derived from the original monthly time step version. This lumped conceptual model simulates a water balance in a catchment (surface, soil moisture reservoir and groundwater reservoir). The hydrological system is characterized by 6 model parameters and three regimes of calculation which can be applied according to the conditions. Next to the runoff it calculates the variables such as evapotranspiration, amount of water stored in the snow pack, storage in soil and groundwater storage. The Bilan model was applied to simulate the present climate and future climate scenarios (year 2085) for 10 Czech catchments. Generally, significant decrease in runoff is expected during the spring and summer seasons, while the runoff in winter is expected to increase because of higher precipitation and earlier snowmelt."@en .
