"Between the 1980s and 2010, the input of air pollutants into the forest stands was measured within the research watersheds of \u010Cerv\u00EDk and Mal\u00E1 R\u00E1ztoka (Beskids Mts., Czech Republic). The study focused on the dynamics of elements passing through the forest ecosystems and on run-off water chemistry development. The decrease of the fallout of basic cations in the 1990s was eliminated due to their release from the soil environment. The differences in the ion fall-out and output show the effect of the soil and weathered rock mantel on the concentrations of protone (H+) and metals (Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn). In all the watersheds studied, the NH4+ ions are consumed, and in the \u010Cerv\u00EDk watershed, the NO3- output seems to overcome its elution. A passive balance of SO42-, F- and basic cations Na, Ca, Mg is visible in both watersheds, along with a passive balance also of K in \u010Cerv\u00EDk. The decrease of the basic cations fall-out was reflected slightly only in their amount in the water of streams. The decreasing of the dynamics of strong acid anions leads to higher alkalinity of the water sources."@en . . .
