"Winter hillslope runoff was studied in two young stands regenerated 25 years ago by clearcut (H) and shelterwood (C) method and in a control mature spruce stand (K) on the \u010Cesk\u00E1 \u010Cermn\u00E1 long-run research area, steeply sloped southward, during the dormant season 2005/2006. In the term November 1 \u2013 April 30, snow represented 75% of 360 mm of open area precipitation. Thawing from March 25 to March 30 \u2013 April 3 corresponded with diverse water storage in snowpack: the highest 172 mm on the plot C, the lower 153 mm on the plot K and the lowest 80 mm on the plot H. The most lateral surface and subsurface runoff from snowmelt was observed on the plot H (11 mm);c at non-recorded frost temperatures of soil, we could link it with greater floor compaction indicated by penetrometer. On the contrary, the significantly greatest vertical flow on the plot C together with small lateral flow showed good infiltration ability of soil at regeneration by shelterwood cutting with created mixed conifer stand."@en .
