"The experimental forest catchment named 'U Dvou lou\u010Dek' is placed in the Orlick\u00E9 hory Mts. and it serves to complex research of environment and regeneration of forest stands in the region with air pollution. After salvage cuttings of declined and died spruce stands the waterlogging on the catchment enlarged. The hydropedological survey detected the cause of waterlogging Histosol and Podzol districts consists in inflowing water from ambient upper lying district of Cambisol. The inflow is induced by hydrogeological structure of placing mica schist and gneiss layers. In opposite, the Cambisol can suffer from intermittent shortage of water in solum due to deeply declined level of groundwater. The groundwater flow through soil layers is dynamic, because theforest soils are permeable, with high infiltration rate. The retaining capacity of forest soils controls 80-90% of one-year stormflow volume. In precipitation runoff process, the retaining capacity is used from about 1/5."@en .
