"Main aim of suggested project is focused on the obtaining of information about an intraspesific storage protein diversity especially wheat LMW-GSs of wheat landraces and old varieties compared to modern varieties. Methodical approaches as PAGE, HPLC, chip electrophoresis and methods at the level of DNA for characterization and identification glutenins will be optimised. The mutual links LMW-GSs to other protein or molecular markers will be studied and the mutual relations between three storage protein systems (LMW-, HMW-GSs, gliadins) will be evaluated. A possibility of utilization of LMW-GS alleles as genetic markers of economically important traits and properties of wheat grain will be evaluated as well. Databases of Prague Gene bank collections of wheat genetic resources will be completed and innovated on the basis of LMW-GSs.
