At the specific conditions (low moister content and temperature) water in fluid phase in seed tissues is converted into specific glass structure (vitrification). Physiological processes slow down at conditions of vitrification, therefore seed deterioration process is slower,too. Differential scanning calorimeter enables exact measurement of physical conditions during vitrification. In species tolerating very low moisture content in seeds (deep drying) and having the vitrification point at the temperature above 0\u00B0C, significant prolongation seed viability could be expected .
