"The proposed project belongs to the COST Action E52 Evaluation of Beech Genetic Resources for Sustainable Forestry. The main aim of the proposed project is to evaluate the ecophysiology of European beech and its adaptability to global climate changes. We will focus (1) on the evaluation of the photosynthetic activity of selected beech proveniences and to identify the main reasons of physiological limitations to photosynthetic CO2 fixation, (2) on the evaluation of impacts of dynamic growing environment, especially dynamic light environment, on the photosynthetic activity and the efficiency to assimilate CO2 under such conditions in selected beech proveniences, and (3) to evaluate the assimilation efficiency under the synergic effect of elevated atmospheric CO2 concentration and dynamic light environment."@en .
