Bude publikov\u00E1n Standard diagnostiky a l\u00E9\u010Dby o RS u pacient\u016F po SCI." . . . . . "Respiratory system (RS) dysfunctions after spinal cord injury (SCI) are frequent. Those abnormalities coincide mostly with a disturbance of a diaphragm function and limited airway patency. Methods of pulmonary function testing (PFT) represent for a diagnostics of RS dysfunction non-invasive and effective tool. The proposed project resolves still missing international standard procedure focused on diagnostics of RS dysfunction by an implementation of PFT methods. We will define parameters of PFT, which will detect early RS dysfunctions, predict a rise of severe complications and also an effectiveness of different rehabilitation techniques. We will define specific combinations of PFT abnormalities that differ with respect to neurologic level of SCI and/or severity of impairment. The project guarantees a prevention of complications after SCI, a reduction of inpatient days, an improvement of quality of life and advantageous economic impact.
