"The determination of a wider spectrum of steroids under physiological conditions will be valuable for understanding psychological disorders connected with changes of neuroactive steroids. A range of hormones has been described in connection with food intake; the significance of neurosteroids in food intake is noted. We will monitor the reaction to various food stimuli in functional tests, as well as their relationship with the circadian and circalunar rhythm. The level of melatonin correlates negatively with C-peptide and glycaemia after eating. We will conduct a range of functional tests in which we will search for the stimulus that has the greatest influence on the level of melatonin, and to determine the relationship with the level of neurosteroids. We will monitor the course of changes in the studied hormones in various situations; from these we will identify additional influences contributing to the development of eating disorders."@en .
