That is why, in non-cooperative patients, the extension of the period of treatment, complications and more frequent visits to medical facilities can occur. Development of mucoadhesive flexible films would contribute to a significant extension of the active drug therapy that significantly reduce the frequency of repeated applications of drugs, their consumption and economic cost of treatment.
