"The goal is to determine the benefit of using PP and HFOV in a specific order on an experimental model of ARDS. Primary goal of the study is the impact of order of individual methods on the blood gases exchange (oxygenation and ventilation parameters). Another goal is to determine the level of protectivity of both possible combinations of the sequence of the methods during mechanical ventilation measured by the severity of additional aggravation of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) resulting in further damage of pulmonary and systemic capillaries with increased permeability and higher risk of multi-organ failure. The level of additional aggravation of SIRS will be determined using plasmatic levels of cytokines IL-6, IL-1\u00DF, TNF-? and IL-10, the levels of which correspond with a disruption of pulmonary tissue microarchitecture and probably also with a systemic damage of capillary endothelium."@en .
