"Selected patients with Parinson\u00B4s disease, progressive supranuclear palsy, multiple system atrophy, dystonia and age-matched controls will be examined by neurologist, neuropsychologist, and with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Examinations focused on motoric and cognitive deficits (attention, working memory, visuospatial dificts, executive functions) will be performed at patients and age-matched healthy controls. MR data will serve to manual and automated segmentation of the BG , cortex and white matter of the hemispheres to distinguish the beginning and dynamic of atrophic changes. MR tractography will reveal changes in the BG connections. Based on the data analysis new effective differential diagnostic procedures and methods will be implemented to detect early stages of selected diseases.
