"Content of the project is the research on volumetry of deep structures of the CNS (basal ganglia, amygdala, hippocampus) in the course of life (aging) and in pathologic states. One of the goals is to find and define the anatomical correlation of observed structures in MR (on the basis of image densities) with precisely determined anatomical borders (based on the cytoarchitecture From the point of view of MRI it includes differences between densities on the boarders of the observed structures. Thus, the acquired data help to increase the precision of volumetric methods applied to observed structures. The normative volumetric data acquired from both approaches will be used for diagnostic evaluations in patients regarding their age.
