"Motive of this study comes from findings which suggest close relationship of traumatic stress, dissociation and epileptiform phenomena in the form of affective or psychosenzory symptoms of complex partial epilepsy also without common motor seizures. Therefore we can assume that significant part of highly traumatized depressive patients who have many of these symptoms (the so-called epilepsy spectrum disorder) will have more significant EEG abnormalities in comparison to other patients. With respect to findings that seizure associated with abnormal electrical activity often leads to a higher level of serum prolactin is possible to suppose that these patients will have higher levels of serum prolactin in comparison to other patients. Results of this project thus may contribute to the problem of indication of several treatment rezistant patients on anticonvulsant treatment and to develop a practical method for their diagnostics."@en . .
