"The analysis of the p53 pathway and its functional status in breast carcinomas using genomic and proteomic approaches will be done to understand the complex molecular signalling pathways involved in this type of cancer formation and progression. Our new results could also provide a direct link between alterations in expression of posttranslationally modified wild-type p53 and mutant p53 proteins and cancer progression and its response to therapy. Analysis of AG-2 and AG3 will help us understand the role of these proteins in (i) inactivation of p53 pathway in breast carcinomas as well as in (ii) mechanisms of cancer progression.
