"In clinical practice, it is very often important to establish the degree of liver injury. In a number of patients, an invasive examination procedure is inappropriate, and no suitable non-invasive method is currently available for clinical practice. Liver cirrhosis leads to various disturbances in liver metabolic pathways. Techniques of 31P MR spectroscopy allow to identify phosphorus compounds, which play an important role in energy metabilism of the liver. There is a correlation between the degree of liver injury and changes in phosphate metabolism. The question is the magnitude of these changes as a reflection of various etiologies of liver cirrhosis.
