The objective of the project is to elucidate further the relations between signaling and energetic functions in cardiomyocytes, mediated by interactions of mitochondrial membrane potential, redox state of the cell, and diastolic calcium release. Complementary \u201Eknow \u2013how\u201C of cooperating departments will both, enrich each of them methodologically, and allow to gain higher level of comprehension of studied mechanisms. Confocal microscopy, electrophysiological methods, biochemical and molecular biology methods will be used to reach the aims of the project. The results will be published in impacted international journals. An important outcome of the project for both groups will be also the improvement of scientific education of students due to sharing pieces of knowledge during cooperation on the project."@en .
