The main aims of the proposed project can be presented as follows: To describe properly the composition of plant communities growing in the areas of interest. To investigate the contents of arsenic and its compounds in aboveground biomass of individual plant species and mobile pools of arsenic in related soils. To elucidate relationships between geochemical, mineralogical and pedological characteristics of the areas of interest and composition of plant communities as well as the plant arsenic uptake and transformation.
