"We will focus our attention on comparison of photochemical reactivity of three fullerenes, i. e. C-60, C-70, and C-76, dissolved in common solvents and irradiated by intense near-infrared radiation. We will also irradiate these species dissolved in unsaturated chlorohydrocarbons by visible and ultraviolet radiation. Fullerene cages can efficiently be photooxygenized under such conditions. We will carry out similar studies also with different derivatives of the fullerenes. Results of these experiments will allow us to propose mechanisms of fullerene cage opening occuring under given conditions and to describe the influence of fullerene cage functionalization on photophysical and photochemical properties of the cage."@en .
