"The main aim of the project is to develop model algorithms that would allow quantifying impacts of eco-physiological stresses (namely drought, extremely high/low temperatures and strong winds) on selected characteristics (yield and its stability, survival rates etc.) of poplar hybrids. These models will be based both on newly set-up and running experiments in the Czech Republic and the USA. Model algorithms will be then used as module within mechanistic model ANAFORE (developed by Antverp University) and also as independent empirical/parsimonial models that will be extensively tested for various conditions within Europe (especially Czech Rep., Belgium and Austria) and in selected US regions.
