"Goal of project is the research, development and tests of single photon detector with picosecond resolution capable to operate in conditions of long-term space missions. The technology demonstrator of detector will be developed on experience with existing semiconductor structures on silicon, called K14, developed and available at the Czech Technical University in Prague. The main direction of research and development will be focused to solve the problems of long-term radiation hardness as expected during mission to Jupiter. Possible applications in space projects are, among others: one-way laser ranging, time transfer via laser pulses in interplanetary probe projects that are currently being prepared by NASA and ESA.
