The project will focus on three specific goals: 1) analysis of plasmachemical processes induced by electrical discharges at gas/liquid interfaces, 2) analysis of biological effects induced by chemical species produced by electrical discharges at gas/liquid interfaces, and 3) analysis of plasmachemical reactions initiated by electrical discharges in aqueous mixtures of organic liquids. The main aim is focused on the mechanisms of production, kinetics and chemistry of transient species produced by discharge plasma at gas/liquid interfaces and in plasma treated water, namely on reactive oxygen species (H2O2, O3, OH) and reactive nitrogen species (NO2-, NO3-, NO, NO2, NO+, ONOOH). Mechanisms of bacterial damage on cell level caused by these reactive species will be determined and possible use of plasmachemical processes induced by discharge plasma in organic liquids for specific chemical synthesis will be evaluated."@en .
