"This project aims at the development of the cutting edge bioanalytical techniques allowing better characterization, understanding and diagnosis of diseases and drug methabolism. On the technology side the focus will be on development of miniaturized technology for analysis of minute amounts of samples (down to the single molecule level) and coupling with mass spectrometry. An important part will be designing computer controlled microfluidic devices for multidimensional separations with laser induced fluorescence detector and mass spectrometry coupling with enhanced ion transmission. On the application side the focus will be on the usage of the developed techniques for analyzes of metabolomic samples difficult or impossible to handle by currently available techniques. The integral part of this proposal will be education of the students working on this project within the frame of their undergraduate and graduate studies and international colaboration with our long term partners."@en . .
