"Development and refinement of chemical technologies, methods of chemical analysis and utilization of chemical processes in nature are conditioned by gaining an understanding of their mechanism. To this end investigation of models of various complexity is carried out, spanning from studies of the structure and properties of single atoms and molecules in ground, excited and ionized states, over examination of their interactions in the gas phase and of their bonding to solids or liquids of different structure and properties, up to the research dealing with homogenously and heterogenously catalyzed reactions at defined conditions. Results of this research work will bring progress in our knowledge on the relation between the structure of the matter and its chemical and electrochemical reactivity. This relation has a fundamental influence on the routes of chemical and electrochemical reactions and thereby on the feasibility and way of their practical utilization."@en . . . . "0"^^ .
