"Condensed matter physics and materials science are two closely related disciplines in which investigation of physical properties of artificial materials and complicated structures brings about an improvement of theoretical procedures, computational techniques and experimental methods. Research will be developed in all these three directions, namely in semiconductors, metals, superconducting, magnetic, dielectric and forroelectric materials -crystalline and noncrystalline-, liquid crystals, composite nanocrystals, metal matrix composites reiforced by oxide or ceramic particles and fibres, single crystals of superalloys, plasma sprayed coatings and/or free-standing bodies, nitride and diamond-like thin films and materials modified chemically and by ion implantation. The results of research will contribute to the understanding of the physical origin of observed material properties and will suggest new possibilities of their applications."@en .
