"Individual fitness of species in relationship to population size is one of the key issues in studying biology of rare species. Population size itself is however not the only factor effecting species performance under field conditions as it might be significantly effected by environmental conditions of the locality. Environment conditions can lead to different local adaptation of individuals of different populations causing differences in plant performance. While there are quite many studies on relation between population size, genetic diversity and plant fitness and on local adaptation of species, these approaches are rarely connected. The aim of the study is to decompose plant fitness into effects of local population size, pure effects of inbreeding and importance of local adaptation and plasticity assessed as performance under controlled conditions with different level of competition as well as under field conditions where also other environmental factor are involved."@en . . .
