"The project is foccused on the in situ studying of the soil carbon flow in wet meadows using the pulse labelling by stable isotope 13-C. It aims to quantify the amount of carbon entering the soil as rhizodeposition and characterize the role of selected soil organic matter pools in carbon transformation ans sequestration in soil, laying stress on the effects of (1) different soil organic matter content and (2) different soil nutrient status (control and fertilized plots) on these processes. The experiment will proceed on wet meadow sites in the Biospheric Reservation of Trebonsko. Experimental results will improve the knowledge on carbon flow and transformation in soil.
