"The project aims at acquiring the baseline data on model bryophytes in: (1) the genetic structure and differentiation of closely related and morphologically hardly distinguishable taxa of rare or threatened bryophytes of two genera in the moss family Pottiaceae; the complex evaluation of morphometric and molecular data matrix of potential taxa, revealing the possible cryptospeciation and polytopic evolution (2) revealing the genetic structure and differentiation in populations of recently spreading but previously rare and generally sparse, potentially vulnerable species, which populations in the surveyed region came through a severe bottleneck; an attempt at modelling the prospects under probable scenarios of future habitat availability (3) identifying establishment possibilities, specific habitat requirements (ecological valence and growth rates in a continuum of conditions) and competitive abilities of Hamatocaulis vernicosus, as opposed to its functional related habitat companions"@en . .
