Proposed project deals with impact of nitrogen on soil microbial community in general and on its part responsible for nitrous oxide, methane and carbon dioxide production in particular. These greenhouse gases are then emitted from soils. Project is aimed to identify the influence of nitrogen-caused stress on structure and function of soil microbial community; it is also hypothesized that nitrogen stress is attenuated by other environmental and soil factors (eg. draught, pH, pollution). The aim is seen in obtaining relevant information on related impacts on trace gas formation in and emissions from cultivated and pasture soils.
