The function of WD40 repeats themselves in particular proteins, insofar as their function is known, consists in protein-protein interaction and in building up functional protein complexes. The aim of this proposal is: 1) to isolate functional WD40 proteins from Thermomonospora curvata and Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2), 2) to investigate the subcellular location of the proteins in mycelium, 3) to identify and to analyse PkwA and WdpA (=WD40 proteins) ligand proteins from T. curvata and S. coelicolor with the help of in vivo and in vitro techniques, 4) to detect protein regions responsible for specific ligand interaction, 5) to explore the regulation of pkwA and wdpA genes, and 6) to determine the role they can play in signal transduction in the process of cell differentiation."@en . .
